Studio Finals

For level 5 I knew my studio skills could be improved so I picked photographing models in my studio for my final unit. We were advised to pick a subject that you could carry on after you graduated. It was either darkroom work or studio for me as I enjoy both.

To help me I hired a local model to photograph who had some experience working for camera clubs and private photographers. My model, Amy, also seen it as a learning experience as she was studying for her A-levels at the time and used my photos for part of her coursework!

It wasn’t just straight model shots I tried to capture, the final result was that I tried to show emotion for my selection of 4 photos that were to be displayed in a professional gallery in Portadown for a few weeks. I could have tried colour shots, but I thought i’d give black and white a go to see the end result. Black and white captures more varying contrast compared to colour photography.
